That means, though, that growth will come from trifoliate or “sour orange” rootstock. And fruit from that, if any is produced at all, will likely be inedible. WebThe first thing is to take into account which tree you are going to graft the lemon tree on. Ideally, use a tree as similar as possible, such as an orange tree or other citrus from a close family. If you use an orange tree, do it before fall , so that the bark is looser and with the sap circulating more easily.
