The fix for me was to remove the grille and loosen all the bolts on the bonnet catch as well as the vertical support to move the bonnet lock vertically enough to ease the release pressure. Just adjusting the bump stops either side of the bonnet wasn't enough. Garry. WebOpen the lid and retighten the nut. Most dovetail locks can also be adjusted in or out to hold the bonnet lid tightly shut. Loosen the nut and turn the bolt using a screwdriver in the slot at the bolt end.
